Olympus to fire the President

The president, Woodford, got fired in 6-month after he becamse the president of Olympus.
I do not know the details but it seems to be the Communication Skill Issue. 

The Communication Skill related with both his/her personality.  In case of the international business, it also relates with the difference among the culture, life style, religion, race and etc.

It is always a challenge to overcome these gaps and it becomes ne of the frustrations in international business,

But it is also one of the most interesting and fun in international business once you respect and try to learn from another culture. Eat their food and try to greet each other in their language is the min.what we should try. 

Beyond business skill and experience, it is the matter of human relationship over a different culture, religion, race and etc. Again, it is the most interesting part of International Relations and Business.

オリンパスの英国人社長解任が、就任後たったの半年で起こったようです。

詳細は分かりませんが、コミュニケーション力の問題のようです。

コミュニケーション力は、その人の個性・人格にも随分と起因すると思います。国際ビジネスの場合、文化、ライフスタイル、宗教、人種などの違いもあります。


そのギャップを埋めることはいつもチャレンジであり、フラストレーションのひとつにもなります。


しかし、同時に国際ビジネスのなかで一番興味深い、楽しみのひとつでもあります。それは相手の文化を如何に尊重し、学ぼうとする姿勢があるかどうかで変わります。その国の食べ物を口にし、挨拶はその国の言葉で交わすなど最低限のことはするべきでしょう。

ビジネスの能力や経験以上に文化、宗教、人種の違いなどを超えた人としての関係構築。やっぱり一番楽しい部分だと思います。
