Young Japanese

During this weekend, I had a chance to talk with five Japanese students who came to Seattle for study.  Talking with them about their passion, future, Japan and etc., I found that they have good and clear direction about their future.  Especially, they are thinking about seriously what they can do for others; in other words, not selfish.

The society has been shifted too much for the material rich and the people are running after only for money.  This generation is a kind of victim of this bubble economy and wrong Japanese education system which they are also aware of it but do not know what to do.

It is our generation duty to be their mentor to give some tips and hints to motivate them for the bright future.

I enjoyed talking with them till midnight.

週末、5名の日本人留学生と話をする機会がありました。彼らと情熱、未来、日本のことなどいろいろ話をしましたが、彼らは良い明確な方向性を各々持っていました。特に何ができるかということを真剣に考えていました。つまり、自己中心でない。

社会はあまりにお金の価値感だけの方向に進み過ぎ、人々もお金を追いかけている。ある意味この若い世代はバブル経済やゆとり教育の犠牲者でしょうし、彼らもそれには気づいていますが、どうしたらいいか分からない。

彼らの明るい未来のために、彼らのモチベーションを高める何かアドバイスやヒントを上げるメンターも我々の世代の義務ではないかと感じています。

夜中まで楽しい一時でした。
