温故知新 wēn gù zhī xīn

”Learn a lesson from the past. ” is a kind of my direct translation.  For business, I think it could say, ”Innovation comes from the review of what you have done."

I remember well that this word is put on the wall in the main hall at my elementary school and it is one of my favorite word.

Originally, it comes from "CONFUCIAN ANALECTS"

We always need to be humility and sincere what we are going to do instead of putting in a trap of ego.
The gentle heart calls an innovation.


故きをたずね、新しきを知る。ビジネスにおいても同様だと思います。イノベーションは、急に降って湧いて出るものではなく、今までやってきたことに見直しから気付くものが多いと思います。

小学校の講堂に大きな額にはいって掲げられていたのを覚えています。好きな言葉のひとつです。

元々は孔子の論語に出てくる言葉です。

常に今まで成し遂げてきたことに対して謙虚にあって、エゴの罠に陥らないようにしなくてはいけません。その心がけがイノベーションを呼び起こすと思います。
