Mr. Yoshida had a chance to lecture his business success story and experience at the MBA class. He was asked about the business risk management. Then he questioned the students what they would do before they get on the bus. Most of them answered perfectly like check the direction, distance, gasoline, mileage, budget and etc.
Without thinking these at all, he would just get on the bus to drive right away. Then, he was asked what he could do if he ran out the gas on the way. He responded immediately that he got off the bus and pushed it. They laughed at him.
He continued if he was pushing bus so hard, most people would laugh at him that you were foolish. But showing his own passion, some people might stop their cars and push the bus together. He added that it is important to make it move. It is not the point if it moves or not.
When I made the big decisions in my life, I did not think so much with all details such as risk management. But I trusted my own feeling and passion as well as a kind of my intuition. Maybe it is right to say guts or someone might say that I was foolish.
Mr. Yoshida's story encouraged me because I want to drive the bus, not just ride on the bus as a passenger. Of course, not to miss the bus.
If you spend too much time to study and consider the risk management, you will miss a chance. It is because you get a fear (in a sense, too smart) and you cannot step forward.
I would say that you should trust yourself what you wanna do and just do it. Even if you made a mistake, you would learn something more than taking MBA classes.

Positive Revenge - tip 1
I volunteered at Jaycee in Japan for four years for the local community, my home town, after I went back from Tokyo working for the US companies more than 15 years. I was mid 30's which was almost 20 years after I left my home town.
What a culture shock I got! I was so frustrated with many things. Then, I remember that I once told the members and myself that;
These days, I also worry about Japan. Because the young generation is so quiet even if they faced with some unreasonable things in the politics, economy and etc. Why did they get angry? If they gave it up already, Japan will go to sink. It is also our generation responsibility to have driven them that way.
The education is one of the most important keys to make everyone and everything happy in this world. We have been leaving something behind us.
Let's make a Positive Revenge what you can do now!

Keep on dreaming - Junki Yoshida
In the USA, a lot of people know Yoshida BBQ source and he is also famous in Japan as one of American dream successors.
He recently published his book; The Seven Laws of Business; e.g. 46 business tips.
Actually, he does not talk about the way of success but he talks about the way of life. He almost got chapter 11 four times in his life but he never gave up.
When I found some same briefs what he was talking about, I was encouraged. I will make some notes from time to time referring his tips.

新年快楽!
This year, 1/23 (Mon) is the new year of lunar calendar. All Asian countries still keep the lunar calendar to celebrate their own countries culture but Japan. I once tried to bring back some local community events per lunar calender when I was in Japan but it did not turn out well.
It is a kind of shame that Japan gave up this kind of tradition and we are no longer celebrate the new year by lunar calendar. It is very important to thank you the nature per lunar calendar and it is how they feel the four seasons well in Asia. This can be only applied in Asia but Japan seems to be forgetting this importance.
Happy new year, my friends in Asia !
I wish you all happy new year for the Dragon.

To be honest with you, I did not know that Japanese companies patent files were so many granted. The question is how it relates with the business growth and success.
In the next 10 years, we might see other countries names such as China, India, Russia and etc.

Invent it - 創造
Alan Kay |
It is one of the famous Alan Kay Quotes. Good time to remember this under the current tough economy circumstances.
It is one of my business motto - Co-existing with co-invention.
